Each year we survey volunteers to find out more about their experiences of volunteering with RiverCare and BeachCare. We received a great response this year, and the data is a credit to all of our hardworking and inspirational group leaders – from Abington to Wivenhoe, and all those in between! 99% of respondents said that they enjoyed volunteering with our groups, and 97% gained a sense of lasting satisfaction with what was achieved over the past year. 91% let us know that volunteering helped them feel more part of their community, and 92% responded that they had noticed visible improvements to their local beach or watercourse, with 85% noting a reduction in litter as a result of having an locally active RiverCare or BeachCare group. This is an amazing result and one that all group leaders should be proud of. We also received a burst of positive comments, ideas and suggestions which continue to be an inspiration to us and will help make the River and BeachCare programme even better once we are all able to return to our normal lives again.
